The School of International Service (SIS) at American University (AU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Social Networks. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and begin August 1, 2018. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or the highest equivalent degree in a relevant discipline by August 2018. Candidates should be scholar-teachers who bring together conceptual and empirical innovations in the investigation of social networks in global, cross-national, regional and/or comparative perspectives. Scholars who come from a wide range of disciplines are especially welcome to apply. Empirically grounded research on such issues will complement the work of SIS faculty research clusters and interdisciplinary AU 2030 initiatives.
As a school that includes a diversity of scholarly disciplines and approaches, we seek the best candidates without respect to a particular discipline. We seek scholar-teachers whose work is theoretically grounded, empirically tested, and policy relevant. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching and commitment to university service. Candidates should share the School’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
