Term Appointment Lecturer, Biosocial Anthropology

Boise State University’s Department of Anthropology seeks a biosocial anthropologist at the level of full-time Lecturer for the academic year 2017-2018. 

Thematic and geographic area of expertise is open. Previous teaching experience is required and experience and/or interest in online teaching is a benefit. Experience in lab groups incorporating undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty is preferred. Renewal of the position for 2018-2019 is dependent on meeting performance expectations and reapproval of funds. Applicants must be ABD or have a PhD in Anthropology.

Candidates should submit a cover letter describing how your expertise and interests align with those of the department, your teaching experience and professional development related to teaching, as well as how the lectureship contributes to your career development. The department is united by an underlying evolutionary framework, and often by a consideration of adaptation as a central theoretical theme. Candidates should also submit a CV, copies of relevant publications, and a list of a minimum of three professional references with contact information. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The position entails 80% of workload devoted to teaching. The start date is August 2017.

Qualifications Required:
° PhD or ABD in Anthropology
° Expertise in biosocial anthropology
° Previous teaching experience with interest or experience in online teaching

Preferred:
° Experience in vertically-integrated experiential learning or labs
° Experience in online teaching
° Demonstrated interest, experience and/or ability to promote cultural competency, diversity and/or inclusive                excellence
° Demonstrated professional development in teaching
