(TV-L E13 / 75%)
Successful candidates will participate in the Ph.D. program of the Munich Graduate School of Economics (MGSE). Our program provides advanced training for in-depth research and covers a broad range of topics in economics with a strong focus on the application of state-of-the-art methods. It offers a comprehensive supervising and mentoring scheme, excellent international contacts, and an outstanding research infrastructure. The MGSE program is conducted entirely in English.
Qualifications
We expect knowledge in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics at an advanced Master’s level. It is not our objective to provide such basic training. Therefore, the standard entry requirement is a completed Master’s degree in economics. Exceptions from this rule are possible in special circumstances. In these cases, any missing graduate-level training will be specified in an individual supervision agreement, with suitable courses to be chosen from the Department’s Economics Master program. As a general rule, these courses have to be passed within the first six months of the contract period. Candidates should be highly motivated to conduct independent research.
The positions involve a teaching assignment of 4 hours per week during the semester.
Fluency in German language is not required for admission. However, from the second year on, candidates must be able to teach undergraduate tutorials in German.
Application procedure
For further details on the MGSE program, the participating faculty and the application procedure, please consult our website:
