Plaza de profesor asociado en Antropología – Purdue University
The Department of Anthropology at Purdue seeks applicants and nominations for a tenure-line associate professor in applied and practice anthropology beginning August 2014. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field and have experience for appointment at the associate rank in Anthropology. Exceptionally well-qualified senior candidates may be considered for tenure. They should have a strong record of teaching and engagement and a commitment to curriculum development of a strong applied program for both undergraduate and graduate programs.The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop curriculum, including courses, internships and experiential learning opportunities, for undergraduates and Master’s level students in applied and practicing anthropology, and to initiate collaborative linkages with Purdue’s other academic Colleges (likely partners include schools, colleges, and institutes such as Engineering, Agriculture, Technology, Discovery Park, Global Policy Research Institute, Center for the Environment, or others). The successful candidate is expected to guide expansion of applied/practicing anthropology in our existing degree programs and in the initiation of an MA degree in applied/practicing anthropology.

Purdue University is a large land-grant University, enrolling approximately 38,000 students per year at the main West Lafayette campus. West Lafayette is approximately one hour north of Indianapolis and two hours southeast of Chicago. Purdue’s Department of Anthropology is located within The College of Liberal Arts.
